Introducing Surface Water Management

Waterlogging is a common issue for farmers throughout Australia, but now there are simple things solutions available to minimise crop losses caused by waterlogging.
Let us help you manage the concentration of water in drains, dams and waterways rather than flooding large areas of paddocks.

Surface water management and design is a cost-effective and long-term solution for ongoing flooding issues. Using EM38 and elevation data we develop detailed soil texture maps, digital elevation maps and waterflow maps.
Following consultation with the farmer, drainage lines can then be overlaid on these waterflow maps. Once drainage maps are finalised and approved by relevant authorities, we can supply maps and files suitable for earthmoving contractors to work with farmers to construct the relevant drains, or alternatively mark out the proposed drains with the farmer.

EM38 and Elevation mapping

  • EM38 soil mapping is used as a reliable option for zoning paddocks according to soil type and potential yields. It is a fast and cost-effective way of defining soil texture zones, i.e. clay content
  • Digital elevation map for the farm
  • Soil management zones for variable rate input application
  • Design for strategic drains and paddock layouts
